The media aide to
Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Olawale Sadare, has taken a swipe on the Special
Adviser on Media to Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Festus Adedayo, over what he
described as 'his penchant for making reckless and vague comments against
perceived opponents of the governor with a view to playing to the gallery'.
Reacting to
submissions made by Adedayo in an interview he granted Sunday Tribune when he
was asked to comment on the cold war between his boss and the two (ACN)
Senators from Oyo State, Sadare, in a statement made available to journalists
in Ibadan yesterday, took exception to the foul language which he claimed Adedayo
used against a serving Senator of the Federal Republic.
"If not for ignorance and loss of professional
consciousness, one would tend to wonder why a mere political appointee would
take pride in launching vicious media attacks on an elected political office
holder. It is therefore unfortunate that a supposed experienced journalist
would not mind compromising the dignity in the pen profession in a needless bid
to fight self-induced political war for his principal.
"If one may ask; where was Adedayo when Sen. Lanlehin
and few other chieftains of the defunct ACN (excluding Ajimobi) were
positioning the party to enable it win elections in the State prior to the 2011
general elections? Who is he (Adedayo) to talk about Sen. Lanlehin's political
odyssey when those he runs errand for, at present, would never tell him the
truth of any matter?
"However, it is imperative for Adedayo to
retrace his step and learn to be a thorough professional in his chosen career
while reminding him to get prepared for the boot as Ajimobi is about realizing
that his likes are largely responsible for the inevitable electoral misfortune
in 2015." Sadare stated.
