Speaking at the occasion, the governor promised that his administration would complete all the road projects awarded before the end of his tenure.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 23-kilometre road, which would serve communities in the council area, was awarded in 2010 while the contractor moved to site in March 2011.
Mimiko, who expressed satisfaction with the road in spite of the delay in its completion, also said:
``The government is satisfied that the project is of high quality and it was executed to specification.
``With the quality of job done, there will be no need to do any major rehabilitation or repair on the road for a long time to come.''
According to Mimiko, 49 road projects with a total length of 731 kilometres had been completed and put to use since the inception of his administration.
He said 36 new projects covering 244.20 kilometres were currently ongoing in the three senatorial districts in the state.
Mimiko said by the time all the roads were completed, his administration would have completed 104 road projects.
The Commissioner for Works, Mr Gboye Adegbenro, said Mimiko’s efforts had engendered robust road development across the state.
Adegbenro said the road being inaugurated was remarkable because it was constructed to meet federal roads standard.
He said the road was a paradigm shift from the old method of road construction.
``People can now travel in serene and friendly environment and enjoy the state-of –the-art facilities that confers dignity on humanity,'' Adegbenro said.
The commissioner urged the people to make good use of the road and avoid anything that would damage the road.
