Ajimobi’s wife, others demand release of abducted Chibok school girls

Acting under the aegis of Committee of Women Representatives in Oyo state, the protestors started their peaceful street march with prayers by different religious groups at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Ibadan.
The participants carried placards with various inscriptions, wearing the wrong side of their Ankara dresses with red cloths tied to their heads.
While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Ajimobi described the missing girls as the future of the country, urging their abductors to release them unconditionally.
Wive of the state deputy governor, female members of the state cabinet, school children, women from 33 local governments in the state, were also part of the protest.
The state first lady pleaded with the federal government to step up security measures nationwide to check rape, kidnapping, armed robbery among other threats to lives and properties in the country.
The procession terminated at the Governor’s Office where they met the state Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
The governor urged members of the public to be security conscious, and not leave the responsibility of securing the land to the government alone.
