Road accident claims two UTME candidates in Ondo

Two candidates of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) were confirmed dead in a multiple accident along Owo-Ikare road, Ondo state on Saturday.
The deceased, whose identity could not be readily established, were among the occupants of a Nissan Almara car crushed by a Volvo truck along the road.
Three other candidates in the car also sustained injuries.
According to Samuel Ibitoye, Head of Operations at the Ikare Akoko office of the Federal Road Safety, two of the victims died on the spot and were taken to the mortuary, while the injured were rushed to the Ikare Specialist Hospital and Iwaro General Hospital for medical attention.
He also confirmed that the victims were on their way to the UTME centres to write the examination.
WITNESS NIGERIA gathered that the crash involved a Volvo tipper, a Nissan Almara and a white Peugeot J5 bus, two of which were coming from Offa in Kwara State.
