By DEBO AKINOLA

The senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Ayo Adeseun has empowered his constituents with equipment and grants worth over N120 million.

At the event which took place at the Durbar Stadium, Oyo, his constituents, who are from 11 local government areas, showered encomiums on the lawmaker for extending the gesture.
The equipment included 60 cars, 200 motorcycles, generating sets, grinding machines, wheel barrow, farm implements, deep freezers, sewing machines, entrepreneurship trainings and bursary grants among others.
Speaking at the event, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, praised the lawmaker.
He, however, accused Adeseun of not giving due recognition to those who ensured his electoral success, saying the equipment meant for the Oyo people was put on hold.
Also speaking, former governor of Oyo state, Omololu Olunloyo, urged other political office holders to emulate the Ogbomoso born politician. He said that many of those that were honoured at the centenary award did not deserve it.
On why he empowered his constituents, the lawmaker noted that failure to do so would amount to disservice to his personality, adding that he has enjoyed their supports more than any of his predecessors.
At the event, which lasted hours, were the interim chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Akin Oke; former attorney general, Are AbdulSalam; Waliu Ganiyu, caretaker chairmen, traditional chiefs and party men.
