Makinde, Oyo PDP guber aspirant, launches campaign team

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, launched his campaign team in Ibadan on Saturday with the promise to run an all-inclusive and responsive government if elected in 2015.
“The responsibility of everybody aspiring to lead is to give the followers a sense of belonging through the deliverance of quality and exemplary leadership which we have set out for,” he said while inaugurating the campaign committee at the Kakanfo Inn in the state capital.
Tagged ‘Omititun Campaign Committee’, the team drew membership from all the 33 local government areas of the state.
While explaining his mission in politics, the United States certified engineer, said though due to the bad conduct of many Nigerian politicians, the electorate are already losing hope on the system and its administrators, he said he has resolved to depart from the usual norm as he seeks to govern the state.
He added that the people of the state deserve much more in leadership quality, saying his government will make life better for the people if elected in the coming 2015 election.
"By the special grace of God, we won't disappoint the people.
"It is obvious that we have obstacles but I want to assure you all that God is on our side and we are going to win every confrontation," he said.
Makinde tasked the newly inaugurated committee members to see the call as a collective responsibility which they must deliver through determination and attract others to the fold.
In his address, Dejo Afolabi, a former PDP Chairman in the state, said that the party would reclaim Oyo state in 2015, adding that the party's victory has been endorsed by God.
Apart from a huge number of group coordinators from across the state, notable members of the party also graced the occasion.
