Jonathan didn’t create Nigeria’s problems, says Gulak

The Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, has cautioned Nigerians against vilifying his boss for the many crises bedeviling the country, saying they were not his creation.
Gulak, who made the submission while receiving a delegation of the youth wing of the National Coalition for Jonathan/Sambo Presidency (NACOJSP) in his Abuja office, said the president is doing his best to surmount the crises he inherited.
“Jonathan inherited many of the challenges our country is facing. The insurgency in many parts of this country, the militancy and kidnapping were crises that this government met on ground,” he said.
Rather than heaping blames on the President, Gulak opined that Nigerians should praise his administration for the achievements it has been able to make despite the challenges.
He said that the establishment of Almajiri schools in the Northern part of the country would help in addressing the Boko Haram insurgency, adding that government has demonstrated commitment to reducing all the national challenges to the barest minimum.
“This government has invested in our rail and power sectors as well as in building the necessary infrastructure to make our youths productive and give them a sense of fulfillment.
``His government has conceded to the yearnings of Nigerians for an avenue to seat and discuss our common nation-building challenges by convening the National conference,’’ he said.
In his remarks, the National Patron of NACOJSP, Benjamin Irikefe, charged the government to explore the strength and potency of youth in the country to bring about peace and tranquility.
