President Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday, fired Nigeria’s
Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, and three others from his cabinet.
Ms. Oduah has been involved in series of scandals including
alleged fake degree certificates and purchase of two BMW armored cars for N225
million, a cost believed to be outrageous.
Other members of the Federal Executive Council affected by the sack are
the minister of the Niger Delta, Godsday Orubebe, minister of police affairs,
Chris Olukolade and the minister of state for Finance, Yerima Ngama.
However, Jonathan’s administration prefers to tag their sack
as ‘voluntary resignation’.
Except from Ms. Oduah, whose sack could be traced to her dimmed popularity and credibility burden placed on Jonathan's government, other disengaged minister are gunning for
governorship position in their respective states.
