Mr. Aliu filed the divorce suit before an Abeokuta Customary Court on Wednesday, adding that the wife, Rashidat, was also too troublesome.
“I have caught her in an act of infidelity; she receives all kinds of text messages and makes calls to several men.
“Please separate us; I am fed up,’’ Babatunde told the
court.
But, the wife denied
the allegations as she pleaded with the court to save her home.Promising to turn a new leaf, Rashidat said the messages her husband alleged to be coming from strange lovers are actually from her customers.
“I love my husband; the messages were from my customers, I am not dating them. Please save my marriage from crashing.
The Court President, Mr. Titus Oluwole, held that there was
still room for reconciliation.
Oluwole appealed to
the petitioner to be patient with Rashidat who, he hoped, would change. He adjourned the case till February 10, 2014 for possible reconciliation.
